The IECEx Certified Facilities Program operated by BASEEFA has begun the process of assessing Repair Shops in the UK for their competancy to Overhaul and Repair Explosive Atmosphere Equipment . For full details of the scheme and information on what you need to do to get a Repair shop approved please refer to the documents below in the Publications block. The EASA European & World Training Course for Responsible Persons and Operatives engaged in the Repair and Overhaul of Explosive Atmosphere Equipment, where candidates are 'Third Party' Assessed for Competency by Sira Environmental, under the Scheme Accredited by UKAS, to international standard ISO 17024, fullfills the requirement to demonstrat the Competency of Personnel as detailed in Annex 'B' of IEC 60079-19. A crucial requirement in qualifying a Service Facilitiy under the IECEx Certified Service Facilities Program.

Two of our past Chapter Presidents father and son Karsten and Karsten Aleksander Moholt, the latter being our current Regional Director were on board the Air France aircraft from Rio to Paris that went missing in the Atlantic Ocean. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family at this traumatic time.
